This year, as part of GEM’s fund raising efforts, we are really grateful to have Dr Ling Ai Ee, a philanthropist at heart who is moved by the works of GEM, to host a charity soiree in aid of women-in-need (WINners). The theme for this soiree is Of Women, By Women and For Women.

It was a fun evening of great music with 7 singers, 2 pianists, a clarinettist and a violinist (all the instrumentalists are women!) and Mary Ann Tear, who is the consultant in Drama and Performance for South East Asia based in Singapore and a senior examiner and trainer for Trinity College London, rounding off and tying in the pieces with quotes and poems. The arrangements of the pieces were specially orchestrated to unveil the inner voices of women. The repertoire of live performances was an eye-opening moment for many.

The event which was attended by over 40 guests raised a total amount of $15,000, including proceeds from a silent auction which was one of the special highlights of the evening.
